Print Protection

  • Regular Glass – Prints will not show any noticeable change for at least 80 years if not hung in direct sunlight.
  • Museum Glass – blocks 100% of UV light. The print will endure for 100’s of years. Allows 98% light transmission.
  • Museum Plexi-Glass – blocks 100% of UV light. The print will endure for 100’s of years. Allows 98% light transmission. This is the only option for framed pieces larger than 36"x48".

Fine Art Paper Prints - Production

  • Produced under close supervision of Michael Easton to achieve high quality with the combination of:
    • A very high resolution image with one of the widest colour gamuts available

    • Fine art baryta Hahnemuhle glossy paper
    • Printed on the Epson 11880 printer
    • The Print
      • Mounted on buffered museum board with a museum board window matte. The border sizes can be adjusted as required by the project.
      • Signed, titled and numbered on the matte below the print.
      • Archival to 80+ years.

Glass Prints - A Unique Product

These are very unique art pieces that can be displayed both by front lighting and back lighting. The back lighting creates a very magical effect that can transform the image. The image is actually fused right into the glass during the tempering stage and is essentially permanent - even if displayed outdoors in direct sunlight. The glass prints can be framed with regular moldings offered in the Interactive Framing Room or we can drill the glass prior to printing to enable the use of metal standoffs for a frameless display.

We can produce glass prints up to approximately 5'x10' in a variety of glass thicknesses

Glass Prints - Production and Characteristics

  • Produced under close supervision of Michael Easton to achieve highest quality for this unique medium:
    • Image is printed directly on glass using light resistant ceramic dyes.
    • The glass is very clear (since it is low iron) and is tempered to fix the dyes into the glass.
    • The image is printed on the front of the glass to maximize contrast and clarity.
    • Printed on a 54" wide DIP glassjet printer.
    • The Print:
      • In comparison to my Fine Art Paper Prints, the glass prints:
        • Have similar dynamic range in black and white.
        • Do not have the same range of colour gamut (reds, purples, cyan, bright colours are difficult to capture) for colour prints. For glass print colour range, earth tones reproduce the best. Since this new technology is constantly being improved, the range of colour gamut rendered may increase in time.
        • Can be hung with or without a frame (using stand-off edge clips).
        • Can be backlit using a lightbox.
        • Available in glass thicknesses ranging from 6mm and up.
        • Can be predrilled for installation requirements.
        • Edge finishing of the glass is available in a variety of styles.
        • Signed and numbered digitally on the lower right side of the print
        • Is virtually unaffected by UV light even in full sunlight and thus is archival for 1000's of years.
        • Is unaffected by:
          • moisture
          • most household cleaning products
          • most industrial chemicals
          • climatic extremes of temperature
